ABOUT US

The Montreal Field Naturalists Club is a non-profit organization, founded in 1971 which depends solely on the support and participation of its members. We are passionate about connecting people with nature. Our mission is to provide enriching outdoor experiences! Join us as we explore the natural beauty of Montreal and its surrounding areas.

Hiking & Walks

We offer a varied program of easy to intermediate hikes at nearby nature parks on Saturdays or Sundays usually every two weeks throughout the non-snow seasons. Many of our members prefer walks closer to home, so there are also a number of Urban walks included in the program.

Skiing & Snowshoeing

Cross-country skiing or snowshoeing (or walking with crampons) take over in the winter months with outings to at organized centers on the island of Montreal or a short distance away.

Our Lecture Series

Our lecture series includes talks on a variety of nature-related topics by scientists and natural history experts.  These free, public lectures are either on Zoom or take place in Fulford Hall of the Montreal Diocese of the Anglican Church of Canada, 2nd Floor, 1444 Union Avenue (across from The Bay).
